Pro tips
One size doesn’t fit all, and the same applies to recipes. We each have our own preferences and occasional doubts. I’ve shared various tips and substitutes, but if you have further questions, feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll be happy to respond.
- In this masala potato sandwich, roasting the besan flour in a bit of ghee before adding it to the aloo masala helps the mixture bind together and adhere better to the bread, preventing it from falling apart. However, you can skip this step if you’re making a full sandwich by placing another slice of bread on top of the potato masala.
- Feel free to tweak the spice level by adjusting the amount of chili and chili powder. Personally, I like my aloo masala pretty spicy, but you can make it milder if you prefer!
- You may also serve this masala potato sandwich with some green coriander chutney and tamarind chutney.
- If you prefer paneer or are following a low-carb diet, you can substitute grated paneer for the potato.
- Another healthier alternative to this is to use grated cauliflower in place of potatoes.
